Landing IB internship w/ irrelevant experience

hi everyone,

I am currently a sophomore who goes to Rutgers and would really like to break into IB. I would like to obtain an internship for summer 2021 but my work experience is quite bad. I only have warehouse and retail experience since I was into supply-chain mngmt and because the pay was really good and helped me pay tuition. Do I still have a chance? if not, what jobs should I look for this upcoming summer and throughout my junior year?

thanx.

Pretty sure theres a dude at Citi who broke in from Rutgers (there are probably many but I remember one guy specifically). Look for alumni at various firms and talk to them. Are there investing clubs on your campus, if yes- get involved. You are not exactly late, but at a non target like Rutgers you need to start from day 1 practically. Take it from someone who broke in from a similar tier non target. Network network network. Sharpen your technicals, get involved on campus, make friends with others who are trying to break in as well, and compete- sounds bad but it will be motivating and I mean it in the friendly competition type of way. I did this with my friends and we all made it (in one way or another)
