Late Recruiting for Summer ‘25: Need Advice on Securing and Lateral Moves

Looking for some advice on securing an internship for Summer ‘25 as a rising junior. I know the top banks have already filled their spots, but are there any chances that new applications might open between now and Summer ‘25? How would I become aware of these opportunities in addition to checking every day here and other sites?

Also, if I get an internship at a lower middle market bank, (since middle markets, bulge brackets, and elite boutiques are filled at the moment) how feasible is it to lateral to a middle market, bulge bracket, or elite boutique later on? Any strategies or tips from those who’ve been through this process would be appreciated.
