Lateral interviewing on top of full time associate role … how?

I legitimately do not know people do this. My group is five days in-office, there’s no real leeway to come in late as the team is usually there by 9am (even on Fridays), and it’s an ultra-lean group so there is zero place to hide.

My options are either to take a suspicious number of “sick days” or “appointment” days. There’s absolutely no way around this, no way to navigate things discreetly.

I’ve got no choice but to bite the bullet, but does anyone have any tips?

While I’d be more than happy to interview weekends or late nights, I get the sense that firms aren’t receptive. I can save full days out for final rounds, but for the handful of early rounds and dozens of networking/HH calls, I have no clue. Kind of glued to the desk given the lean size of my team.

Are there conference rooms you can pop into? My old team was surprisingly chill about it / easy to show up late but my new firm is a bit more stodgy so in the same boat as you

That’s extremely annoying wow. Are you in a MM or BB/EB? Wish I had better advice but damn. I know some interviewers in the past for me were receptive to weekend / Sunday interviews if it was a first round or model test but tougher the further in you are naturally.
