Lawyers and Bankers M&A
What do bankers understand about M&A that lawyers don't understand?
Viceversa, what do lawyers understand about M&A that bankers don't understand?
I've seen bankers having a general understanding of the laws behind the deal meanwhile lawyers only do the paper and don't understand shit beside what Delaware laws say

Interesting question, and excited to hear other perspectives. As a banker, all you really need to know is high level corporate finance accounting (tell me if I'm wrong). Lawyers, for the most part, understand the corporate accounting aspect.
The skill gap can be summed up to bankers being closer to the data and excel spreadsheets, where lawyers refuse to go.On the other hand, lawyers play a small role in most of the deal process, they might offer counsel here and there throughout, handle your NDAs, but they don't really kick into the deal until confirmatory diligence, and the SPALawyers can be bankers (and many have switched to it) but bankers would not be able to do what lawyers do. That's what law school exists for.
Written like a true lawyer who pushes paperwork.
