Lazard LA vs Barclays LA vs BAML LA
Thoughts on these 3 offices for exits/deal flow/ general career opportunites? Lazard is primarily aerospace/defense M&A, Barclays is sponsors, and BAML is generalist.

I hear Lazard and Barclays are pretty strong, definitely better exit opps from Lazard as i've heard they're sending a guy to Silver Lake this year. Really would go to Lazard because it's an EB, you'll get dedicated deal flow to give you experience versus the possibility of doing generalist work at a place like barclays. Barclays has a sicker office tho just sayin
Also heard barclays is very strong
This is very bad advice. Barclays has sent people to more top PE shops in the area without a doubt. You can do a linkedin search and see Apollo, Ares, etc. I'm not saying Lazard is bad, but you will have better exits from Barclays.
well he chose Barclays so it don't matter anyways :)
Do you have offers from all 3? Barclays LA had some really cool people and some good deal flow based on the conversations I had.
As someone who has worked briefly with some buy side shops on the west coast and knows some about LA banking, I highly recommend Barclays. One of the strongest groups on the west coast. Lazard will pigeonhole you and is too small. Not too familiar with BAML, but from what I’ve heard it’s solid. Either way, Barclays is the easy decision for exits.
