mrferragamo123 is wrong. FIG actually has one of the best cultures at Lazard; they implemented protected weekends as a group before it became firmwide. This being said, FIG grinds hard and will occasionally work Saturdays. Overall, protected weekends at Lazard depends more on the deals you are on than your group. If you are on a live deal it doesn't matter what group it is, you'll be working the weekend...

Protected Saturdays is bullshit and is always has been. If you are in a group with any real deal-flow, you are always going to be working on a live transaction and will therefore be granted an exception to the policy on most weekends. This goes for all banks with this policy.

Are people implying that if you’re on a live deal, you’ll basically work every Saturday? That hasn’t been my experience at all, unless you mean sending a few emails / adding people to a VDR, etc.

It’s not actually how it works. After two summers and a part time internship, I can attest to the fact that saturday work is very rare, ive only seen it like 3 times.
