LBS MFA 2024 current status

Hi, I'm on the waitlist now and waiting for final dicision of LBS MFA 2024 intake program, so I might not go to LBS this year. But I want to know the current placement status in LDN or anywhere.

Also, if I get an offer (hopefully), I'm a bit worried about getting a full-time job because of my background. I only have 1 bb ibd internship experience in my home country, and I'm not a native eng speaker. (no prob to speak english but don't have overseas experience). Also, I don't speak any European language and Chinese as well.

Considering the expensive tuition fee, it is difficult for me to easily make a decision (if I get an offer).

I would appreciate it if you guys could give me any advice or opinions.

(I found out one related post here, but just want the update.)

Thanks!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to know about the LBS MFA program and your concerns:

Current Placement Status

  • Strong Placement: The LBS MFA program has a very strong placement record. Graduates have been placed in top firms across various sectors, including Investment Banking, Private Equity, and Consulting.
  • Comprehensive Employment Report: LBS provides a detailed employment report that highlights the success of its graduates in securing roles in leading firms.

Concerns About Background and Job Prospects

  • Work Experience: While you only have one BB IBD internship experience in your home country, the LBS MFA program is designed to enhance your profile significantly. The program's rigorous curriculum and networking opportunities can help bridge any gaps.
  • Language Skills: Not being a native English speaker or knowing other European languages should not be a major barrier. Many LBS MFA graduates have succeeded in securing roles despite similar backgrounds. The key is to leverage the resources and support provided by LBS, such as career services and networking events.
  • Tuition Fee Concerns: The tuition fee is indeed a significant investment. However, the strong placement record and the potential for high-earning roles post-graduation can justify this expense. Additionally, LBS offers various scholarships and financial aid options that you might explore.

Additional Advice

  • Networking: Utilize the LBS alumni network and career services to connect with industry professionals and alumni who have similar backgrounds. This can provide valuable insights and potentially open doors for job opportunities.
  • Skill Enhancement: Focus on enhancing your skills through the program's coursework and additional certifications if possible. This can make you more competitive in the job market.
  • Career Services: Make full use of the career services offered by LBS. They can provide personalized advice, mock interviews, and resume reviews to help you prepare for job applications.

If you have any more specific questions or need further details, feel free to ask!

Lots of posts already about MFA placement, you should try googling it.
Overall, considering macro and everything placement is good, lots of people with offers, minority with IB offers (in London).
The silver lining here is that the MFA (if you get in), or another similar program, will get you the interviews but it's up to you to get the offer. By now you should already be polishing your CV, CLs, preparing answers for behavioral questions and reviewing technical questions.
London for summers (you won't get full-time, unless you are a woman and still should apply to summers anyway) is very competitive and you need to ace the interviews, meaning you need to start prepping now.
