Loan Syndication to Leveraged Finance

I come from a corporate banking background from a Canadian bank, and I recently got an offer to join a top BB's investment grade finance syndication team. My end goal is Lev Fin, but I heard loan syndications is just process driven and you move logos like a machine without doing any analysis. 

Can people transfer to Lev Fin or other industry group from IG syndication? I really want to lateral given that our team barely gets any deals.
