Log 4: Devising a Plan

Your non-target cuck is back. I completed all the goals (If you don't include the DCF) for the first time and ended up having 4 calls this week. I also ended up finishing 2 books and recently started on Barbarians At The Gate(Loving it so far). The coming week does not have much school work and I have a couple phone calls planned.

As mentioned last time, critique me like an asshole.

Log for Week: 9/30/2019-10/6/2019

Networking: I didn't count all the LinkedIn Messages/ Cold emails I sent but I can confidently say around 100. I gained 3 calls this week, and 4 calls have been planned so far for next week. I would say the calls went okay, one of them even offered to connect me with others. Still a bit awkward though.

In other news: I plan to network aggressively with a certain regional boutique. The boutique has a small number of workers and has been known to hire interns from my school. I already have a network in the firm and currently have one analyst willing to vouch for me.

Bright Side of this: - Everyone besides the MDs are from my school. - I know 4 people there and one of them well. - Some of the MDs really enjoy golf like me.

Down side of this: Yeah... I'll be blunt, I literally have no prior experience in finance. I've done an internship at a small sales firm which let me do some accounting but no experience in finance. It scares me that this great opportunity will simply slip away.

Question: Is it possible to get an Investment Banking Internship without a prior finance internships (Probably Fucking Not). What type internships are best for transitioning into an Investment Banking Internship? Are spring internships really harder to get than summer internships? I know M&I tells you to ask for connections at the end of a phone call but it feels like a douche thing, is it really alright to do that?

Goal - Hit that 100 cold email again. - Finish my current book. - Get to talk to 4 more bankers besides the ones already planned. - Create a schedule for each day and abide by it.
