LSE MFin vs HEC MiF vs LBS MFA for London IB (2026/27 Intake)

Hi everyone, looking for some objective advice from people familiar with London recruiting.

Background

Graduating from a top 3 Canadian school (McGill / UofT / UBC) in Finance

Internships

  • Boutique project management consulting
  • Credit Risk Management at a European bank (~€300B AUM)
  • Corporate Banking at the same bank (coverage)

Languages
English, French, Polish

Citizenship
UK and EU (no sponsorship concerns)

Offers

  • LSE MFin
  • HEC Paris MiF (includes a €10K scholarship)
  • Upcoming interview: LBS MFA

Goal

Break into Investment Banking in London (ideally BB or EB)

Key questions

  1. Between LSE MFin and HEC MiF, which places better specifically for London IB?
  2. If I were to receive an LBS MFA offer, would that clearly dominate both options?
  3. Given my background (non-IB internships but relevant finance exposure), which program best positions me for IB recruitment?

I’m less concerned with lifestyle and more focused on maximizing IB placement probability in London, especially given that I don’t have visa constraints.

Would really appreciate perspectives from:

  • People who recruited in London IB
  • Alumni of LSE, HEC, or LBS
  • Anyone who has seen outcomes across these programs

Thanks in advance.
