Mad Hatter in the Basement of Platinum Equity - What's going on over there?

Seen a couple threads on here about how nice Platinum Equity's LA office is — historical building right in the heart of Beverly Hills — but never been myself (work LMM IB in the area). Apparently everything about it is through the roof (dark wood interior, catered food, fine art etc.). Don't know much about the shop besides that but have seen some of their past deals in the news.

I heard through friends that they have some artist working away in the litteral basement of the office. Apparently he's got a whole studio setup (think multiple rooms, kitchen etc.) about a floor below where the juniors sit. Also has pretty crazy celebrities come visit/walkthrough etc.

Anyone know if there's any truth to this? Know they have a bit of sports exposure w/ the pistons as a portco, so maybe trying to carve of fine arts as a new vertical? Maybe on retainer to decorate the office? Didn't really think they would touch that, seems pretty crazy

Anyone in LA know more? Seems too cool to be true
