Maths/Finance vs Law/Finance
Hi everyone this is my first post on WSO.
Basically, the problem I am having is whether I should stick with my degree or switch. I am currently a second-year math and finance student at UNSW with an above high distinction WAM (87) and have an offer to study law and economics at USYD.
I'm thinking about switching because I am losing my passion for maths slowly but surely and looking ahead to my third analysis courses and seriously don't know if I will be able to get through with strong marks, while law seems easy and dull in comparison. This worry is amplified by (at the least perception I have) that Law students seem to get into IB much more often and with more ease than maths students and makes me feel like I am putting myself through suffering for no gain.
Do you guys think that an applied maths degree is helpful in finance
I'm currently enrolled in both courses and am up to date with my classes for both should I switch or what other factors should I consider. I have to make my decision in the next couple of days because it is already the third and second week respectively and I feel like an idiot.
Aacha, "maths".
what does this mean
Honestly won't matter either way - your GPA is good just make sure your EC's are up to scratch and get some decent work experience before applying for summer internships
