Maxit Capital — Toronto

What's the word on this firm — seems like it's legit and run by legit people, and they work on some pretty big stuff

Any idea on comp (they work on pretty big transactions and considering such a small team comp may be normal at the analyst/associate level)? Culture?

Appreciate the flag! Honestly you have to be so careful with these kinds of places, and from the commenters below it looks like it is not well regarded (I have minimal exposure to the mining world)

The fact that the folks on their have pedigree from prior jobs is a good thing, but are you really going to advance / enjoy yourself? Asking around like this is the perfect first step.

Having tombstones doesn’t also showcase the work they did on a deal. I’m sure the senior person on the file gave some advice to the Agnico / Kirkland merger, but as a junior your role would be zero as the lead left that is probably a Canadian bank is going to be making the model / materials etc

Sweatshop, work on marquee transactions but in a smaller role, mining-specific so will pigeonhole you.

Don’t think comp is anything insane.

Is it possible to lateral from that shop to a mining team at a B6?
