MBA —> VP

Let’s be real—putting MBA grads in Associate roles is like hiring a chef to wash dishes. It just doesn’t make sense.

MBAs are trained to lead teams and make big decisions—exactly what a VP should be doing. Why should they have to slog through the Associate grind when they’ve already got the skills to run the show?

Firms are always talking about "maximizing potential." So why not start by putting MBAs where they belong—at the VP level, driving strategy and managing key relationships from day one?

Is this a joke? if not go I want you to go to a new graduate out of residency and have them do your surgery and see how safe you feel

Doctor here—residency is actually designed to train you for surgery—MBA for VP is like taking someone who is not a medical doctor, but has a DBA (Doctorate in business administration) specializing in healthcare, or a PhD holder in health economics to do your surgery.

I seriously think OP may never have worked in IB before. This troll post isn't even funny or competent baiting

What about MBA’s who come from IB, i know a few people who went to a M7 just to move up the ladder in terms of the firm they worked at, some were at regional boutiques and got a MBA to have a shot at BB recruiting

“Tell me you have never worked with an MBA associate without telling me you have never worked with an MBA associate” aah-post

Yikes. If you actually are asking, it's because most of them do not have that much IB experience yet, besides only doing a 10 month internship. Also most of them were using the MBA to career pivot, and were not in the finance field pre-business school. They have a long ways to go and need to start at Associate.
