MD Comp Ranges For Each Division

I’ve spent a lot of time looking up the expected comp for entry level analysts but I’m getting more curious to see what the endgame would be for each role. I know 99% of analysts won’t stay long, but just for curiosity what are the expected comp ranges for each type of MD

Specifically, I’d be super interested to see what the comp is for an MD in IB, ER, S&T, PWM/PB, AM, and Corporate Banking. I know the pay scale is even more diverse here and IB can hit $2 MM but just wanted to see ballpark figures for the other fields.

lol what ER analyst is pulling a mill a year unless they are absolute rockstars, ie equivalent to the MDs that pull in $3+mm.  Coverage BB and UMM MD's pull in around $1.5mm on average, you can add 500k - $1mm to that for more senior / rainmaker ones.  Group heads may hit $3mm.  EB MD's pull in 20-30% of gross deal fees in comp.  That can be a ludicrously high number some years ($10+mm) but on average, more like $3-4mm.  Not sure about S&T MDs but they largely don't have direct drive bonuses anymore so lower on average than banking MDs.

From what I've seen MD base ranges from 300k - 450k. And I've heard that you essentially need to generate enough business to bump your comp to 1 million a year, otherwise you're not worth keeping on for the bank. But that's obviously not from experience given I'm an analyst. I've seen MDs with low 8 figure incomes though, but those cases are group heads or rainmakers that are poached by an EB and get 30% of revenue generated or whatever incentive they get.
