Meet everyone in group?

Would it be advisable to try to meet as many people in a banking (Elite Boutique and MM Banks) group as possible? Whenever I have an informational interview with someone in a group I just end up seeing if they could introduce me to someone else in their group. I've done this a couple times with one particular top boutique bank and have meet with 4 of their analysts already. Is that too much, or should I just keep going?

If you want to, probably no real harm...but if possible (ie if you have a good relationship with someone in the group) I'd try to make it happen in a more social way, for example if you're actually getting along well with someone in a group and you happen to be near the bank, you could say you'd love to grab a drink with him sometime to catch up and meet fellow analysts etc.

Much more fun way of doing it, and if you pull it off you'll be much more fondly remembered when recruiting comes around.

That's what I'd do anyway, if I were trying to meet multiple people in a group

I should also add I would only ever do this if I were really interested in a specific group, because it'd be pretty terrible/a bit of a waste of time to try to meet a ton of people in a group, only to get an offer and go elsewhere.

Yeah, can't hurt to meet a few people in the group - but it definitely has diminishing returns and if I found out you were trying to talk to all the analysts in my group, for example, I'd find it a bit weird - surely your questions have been answered by others etc. That's why I'd try to meet them in a social setting if possible, because they'll get to know you informally and it won't seem weird that you're meeting a bunch of them.

If that's not possible at all (it's unlikely for sure, unless you have a really good relationship with someone in the group) I would recommend trying to meet people at different levels in the group rather than making the rounds of the analysts - try to meet associates, VPs, MDs etc - you get the idea.

Keep up the good work. I would choose one person in each group who would be able to go to bat for you, while doing what you are currently doing. It really stands out during an interview, from other applicants, when you can name different people in the team.
