Memoryzing Valuation Templates
Hi,
I studied the content of Rosenbaum and Pearl to prepare for an upcoming M&A inernship. Would you consider it to be helpful if one tries to memorize the Excel Models that come along with the book (rather than just being able to understand them)? Or does one rarely have to build a model from scratch and rather uses provided templates? It's not that I am refraining from investing the time, but am really unsure if this trends towards being a waste of memory capacity and one should rather invest the time in more productive content.
Are you serious? Why would you have to memorize the Excel models if you can just refer to the book..? No firm expects an intern to build a financial model all by him/herself.
And also on that note, they will also have templates used in their previous M&A deals. Don't waste your time on this.
I would spend my time making sure I truly understood the concepts rather than try and memorize a template
