MF secondaries vs top EB IBD

hold offer from a MF (think Carlyle/Apollo/BX/Ares) in a non-PE secondaries group and another EB (laz/moe), the MF name is super sweet for an undergrad but not sure if I want to be in secondaries long-term. any thoughts on which offer to take / exits from secondaries buyside?

Feel like if you performed reasonably well at any point in your time there you could move to MF PE or PC or whatever you want. More optionality for sure. For myself, nothing is ever good enough and eliminating optionality and freedom are a real bummer. I also think the training you will get will be better in IB at a place like Moelis m&a.

Assuming this is Carlyle/BX as apollo just started playing in secondaries and doesn't hire analysts. If carlyle- take the EB. if BX- infra/RE would be worth weighing vs EB- hard to get into good secondaries funds later on as very limited spots. if you're not sure about secondaries long term would talk to some people in secondaries ASAP and get a feel, but would probs take the EB for optionality
