Mid Market IB @ Canadian Big 5 (Analyst Comp, Exits, Comparison)
Curious on compensation and exits for CIBC/RBC Mid-Market Investment Banking? Is it looked down upon/how does it fare against mid-market/boutiques in Toronto like Raymond James, Agentis, Fort Capital?
Big 5 "Mid-Market" teams are part of the commercial bank and not the capital markets division. I can't remember the number but think I heard total comp is around half of CM. Exits mostly to IB in the CM division of the same/another bank or independents (have seen Stifel/RJ and one to a LMM PE fund recently). Would put it below RJ and the independents of that level.
