tenniseddoSeconded. He would have beat Barrack

i don't think ronald regan himself could have saved the GOP this time around. romney is a very intelligent man but i think in order to be elected he needs to shed his image as a political chameleon. he also needs to expand his appeal beyond the APAC because they won't have the pull to get anyone elected by themselves in 2012 ...

Please Mitt Romney, while I originally supported his candidacy, is the ultimate sycophant - even for a politician. Dude's position shifts with the wind. Can't say I have confidence in that.

Can't blame him how as Mormon exactly do you win the nomination of a Party which caters to ultra-conservative Bible-thumping Jesus freaks. Romney certainly would have been better as a VP than that clown Palin; I'll never take the Republican Party seriously again.

Joe the plumber could have beat Obama, or at least the GOP seemed to think so in the final days of the campaign. If the GOP want any chance they need to redevelop its identity b/c right now it is a clusterfuk. Loose the religious BS, loose the gun BS, loose the creationism BS, loose the Pro Life BS; keep it simple, lower taxes and less government, they won't attract the same retarded crowed that they have traditionally bent over and taken it from but they will get enough converts to get in office.

Take it for all it's worth.

unfortunately i don't see them doing any of this because the GOP lost most of its moderates in the last couple of election cycles and most of what is left are the bible thumping right wing duchebags. look at the latest "party voices": jindal, palin, limbaugh, etc. these people don't yet understand that macro social and demographic trends have turned severely against them. the GOP needs new leadership to get back to its foundations but unfortunately i think they're doomed to wander in the wilderness for another 8 years at least ...

GeneralThadeRomney won the straw poll yesterday by conservatives. rush limbaugh spoke and it was great.

Romney won the last straw poll, and guiess what? He didn't get the nomination. It doesn't mean shit.

Rush Limbaugh is a lunatic and one of the reasons moderates don't take the Republican Party seriously. The faces of the party are fucking morons.

Romney has won the last three straw polls, and the last straw poll was taken after he dropped out and he still won. I dont expect everyone to be as crazy conservative as myself and the other CPAC participants but comeon...Romney should have won. I am not too confident in his positions but much less so in John "Leftie" McCain. Comon we needed a more conservative peoson to nominate, people were fooled by Obama's cult of personality and his transition at the speed of light to the center (but a little left). On the other hand John McCain was not conservative at any time so he didn't attract the far righties like me and didn't attract the far-left who wanted to suck OBama and didn't get the moderaties becase they were sick of Bush. THe numbers show that not everyone was fooled by Obama's switch to the center with ONLY a 52% win it shows that even with a bad economy, a leftist, and post-Bush, the GOP could have won if we hadn't nominated someone that alienated the base of the party!

So what do you do? -I work for an investment banking firm. Oh okay; you are like my brother, he works for Edward Jones. -No, a college degree is required in my profession

Reality hits you hard, bro...

Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin represent the new faces of the Republican Party. Don't look to the GOP to make intelligent decisions.

Romney (or for that matter any other GOP candidate) would not have won against Obama.

The country was in disarray in September and October right before the election and the majority of voters blamed it on Bush and the republican party. Democrats won by default and there was nothing Romney or anyone else could have done about it.

Look at the polls; the candidates were going head to head until the whole mess began in September. Anyone here who thinks that Romney would have won does not know much about politics, history or sociology.
