Morgan Stanley Pay and Progression
Is anybody able to confirm a) latest base pay for analyst 1 - associate ranks and b) how tf the associate system works at MS? Read somewhere that there is aso0 - aso4 which would imply that you spend five?? years as an associate while norm on the street is 3 years. Also, do only A2A start at aso0 or is this also true for post-mba?
Bump
I think A0 = basically 3rd year analyst at other banks, but gives you associate title.
You do A0 for a year, then you become A1 (stub at other banks) along with post-MBA associates for 6 months.
Then A2-A4 (A1-A3 at other banks).
A2As pretty much do 2 years as analyst and 4.5 years as associate before becoming a VP.
When you go from A1 to A2 within 6 months, I'm assuming they pay you a stub A1 bonus correct? If so, all else equal, you'll make slightly less as an associate at MS because you're stubbing an A1 bonus instead of A0, right?.
What is comp for Aso0?
A0s get their bonuses in summer along with analysts - again they are like 3rd year analysts.
Promoted A1s get their stub bonuses along with post-MBA stub associates, who are also A1s (equivalent to A0s at other banks).
Standard Aso tenure is 3.5 years at MS. Aso 0, 2, and 3 are full years and Aso 1 is c.6m stub (July to Jan)
This is correct except that Aso 1 is more like 1.5 years. You are stub for 6 months and then continue was an asso 2 for a full year. It's a 4.5 year associate program for A2A. 3.5 years if you start as an mba associate.
Incorrect
Progression is: analyst (2 years), foundational associate (1 year), stub associate (6 months), associate 1 (1 year), associate 2 (1 year), associate 3 (1 year), promote to VP.
Analyst = 2 years
Associate = 4.5 years as an A2A
What is foundational associate base bonus
