Most an MD has made?

Not assuming some Proffit sharing at the partner level / having ownership in a boutique, what is the most you’ve heard an MD has made in IB?

You hear about Sage Kelly’s hamptons house, and 20th century bankers living big, but lately I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to retire and feel like I’ve become “rich” ($20m+) in this industry

During CSFB’s peak before the tech bubble burst Quattrone was rumored to have made $200m over 3 years from 1998 through 2000. Jefferies paid Ben Lorello around $60m over his first three years at the firm.

Not exactly the same since it’s executive compensation (included since they’re still quite active as advisors and M&A Dealmakers), but Paul Taubman was awarded $164M of compensation in 2015 (of which only $250k was cash). Peter Weinberg made $72M in 2021 ($16M cash, $56M PWP stock).
