Moving between MM banks?

Curious if anyone has made the move from one MM shop to another (for whatever reason) and what steps they took in doing so?

Currently I'm at a respectable MM bank in an industry coverage group. Though we do outsource some of our M&A, we probably work on 1/3-1/2 of the deals on our own. That said, I'm more interested in the M&A side of things and am looking to move to a group focused solely on that.

How difficult would it be for me to move to another MM bank's M&A group? I'm pretty open to locations, too. I'm currently in NYC, but would places like KeyBanc, Harris Williams, Lazard MM, or Raymond James consider me as a potential lateral hire?

If anyone has info they'd rather PM me too, that's fine. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Of course other MM shops will consider you. Just be prepared to potentially start your two years over again. The steps would be no different than if you were looking to change jobs at any other company. Contact someone you know at your target company, try to get an interview, interview, if they offer you a position, that's it you're done.
