MS Tech IBD vs Bain Capital PE

Senior at a target school who received an offer from both MS Tech IBD teams and Bain Capital for full time analyst programs

Wanted to know the pros and cons of starting in buyout as opposed to banking - heard a lot of MF buyout analyst programs are not the best and wanted some insight into which program I should take.

Thanks

general guidance is to go buy-side if you're 100% certain you want to be an investor.

if not, ms menlo will get you to the same places within investing/better places outside of it. even if you want to go hedge funds, they're looking for MF associate exp (3-4 YOE) so you'll get what you want either way.

I would absolutely take Bain Cap if you’re even remotely interested in PE. Their program for Analysts has a very high conversion rate to Associate (I think it’s almost marketed as a 4 year program) with great Bschool exits.
