Need advice on exiting banking
Looking for some advice. I'm currently working in NY at a top BB (GS/MS/JPM) and started this past june as an IB analyst. The truth is, I really hate the lifestyle and the work and want to plan to leave as soon as I can. The reason I got into this job is because I'm extremely interested in investing, and want to work as an equity analyst at a Hedge Fund or Long-only shop down the road. I'm currently in NY, and want to hop to one of those jobs or to sell-side equity research as soon as possible - preferably in Boston but also would look in NY/CT. How early should I begin to consider this move? Do I need to wait the full 1 or 2 years of banking before doing so? Also, any other advice on this topic would be appreciated
