Need Real Sound Advice

For the folks who have succeeded, and especially those who "failed"...

When at the crossroads of school, recruiting, and life, what do you recommend students do who refuse to take a no for an answer through this god forsaken industry.

Background: Had 3 Superdays across the Street, and Central Am. for M&A positions (2025/26)

2 Rejections, and 1 waiting (for early this coming week).

I really don't see myself pursuing anything else short of becoming a monk atp. Would appreciate any insights or advice.

My advice to you is to keep going and doing what you're doing. The advice I give everyone nowadays since it has gotten so competitive is to build as big a funnel as you can. Get into as many processes as you can, convert as many 1st rounds to superdays as you can, and hope you can convert a superday to an offer. You have to realize that at most superdays there is 1 offer for every 3-4 candidates (or worse). You may have been the runner up on all these, which unfortunately means no offer but does mean you are close.

Here's what a realistic funnel looks like: 15 first rounds -> 4 superdays -> 1 offer

The fact that you've gotten this many superdays tells me you are a good candidate because you can get interviews and do well enough to convert to superdays. You're on the cusp, just keep going and pounding the pavement. It's always a numbers game

First off - THANK YOU for the realistic perspective. I think too many people here love to take a piss out of students in their own journey.

I've never taken no for an answer so thinking about every single step along the way that has put me in this position, with the format you laid out makes it all make sense.

It's just now a game of balance with outreach & prep to stay engaged in these ongoing cycles. Hell it's already Feb.

Anywho, God bless you. I appreciate it.

I am in the exact same spot. 3 superdays 2 rejections 1 hearing back tomorrow. I have never felt more hopeless in my life. So fucking exhausting
