Need some feedback

So hereâ€s the deal. Currently I work as an associate at a distressed debt fund (consumer focus). In December I will have finished my MBA in December and I want to have a new job lined up for January. The school is 2nd tier overall, but is ranked #1 for its specialty. I know I am at a disadvantage in regards to not having done the typical summer internship route, but the skill set that I have been able to build should make up for this.

The way I view my skill set: Experienced in complex deal valuation Able to build analytical frameworks that bring clarity to situations Quickly able to identify key metrics and drivers in unfamiliar situations Strong team management skills Experienced in working with and presenting to C-level management

Right now I am trying to determine my options. I know that if I stay in the distressed space I want to get off the consumer side and into high yield or special situations. Iâ€m also considering M&A advisory work, hopefully on the tech/media side. Iâ€ve done some independent consulting/financial work for a mobile media firm, so I do have experience in the field.

Any one have any feedback on areas where they think my skill set would be a good fit? Specific company recommendations? Iâ€m open to options in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles (to a lesser extent).
