Normal to persuade people accept return offer in this way?
Hey guys and gals, 2020 summer internship has ended and I hope everyone has enjoyed WFH and got return offer from your favorite team. My company just sent out the official offer letter to interns. I feel confused about one thing. Is it normal to see the biggest boss (>=MD at a tier 1 American bank) of your team to give you some overwhelmingly good praise and super high recognition multiple times for your work during the internship before they gave you offer call? He is not my manager so he doesn’t really supervise me on any detailed work. I know this might be some sort of strategy to persuade interns to accept return offer but I don’t really think they need to do it in this way since in the end there are so many talents out there and it hasn’t to be me. Maybe I should be happy about it but this gives me some worry that they just want me to sign the return offer ASAP and after that i will no longer be that valued because they already have me. Hope to have some advice on how I should look at it. Thanks!
Lol. Encountered the same, wondered the same and then I just saw the post. Bump.
Could be that he just heard/saw the positive feedback others gave you. Of course he's gonna want you to sign, but if it's really a tier 1 bank like you said, I really don't think it's that sketchy
