(Not Your) House Party

When I was in high school we would break into this (pretty nice) beach houses in the winter time and throw a party. One winter we did it like 4 or 5 nights in a row, literally going down to the next house over the following night(s) until finally on the fourth or fifth night a swarm of police cars surrounded the house and a bunch of fat local cops that looked like Chief Wiggams chased drunken high schoolers down the beach. The geniuses who would kick down the door and invite everyone over ended up getting a pretty stiff punishment.

Anyway... then you come to these kids: http://gawker.com/teens-throw-party-in-mansion-while-millionaire-homeow…

They broke into a multi-million dollar house and threw a party. Sounds like fun, makes me nostalgic.

But the real story here... is the damages and stolen property (supposedly $1m worth). Among the inventory of stolen items:

Several stolen items have since been recovered, including a full suit of armor complete with helmet and shield and a taxidermied snow leopard valued at $250,000.

Pretty bad ass. I'm definitely going to have a taxidermed snow leopard in my house one day... and kudos to the kid who stole it. At least he's got taste... I wonder if he also stole the silk white robe and 4-finger ring.

Those types of parties in high school & the more refined college version are classic. But not missed... I was house sitting, remember waking up in a closet wearing a smoking jacket, tons of jewelry, and guessing a BAC of .379 at 11:45am... A quick pick up hockey game, coors light, and a burrito took care of that. If that were to happen today I would be paralyzed for a few days.

I would give anything to have been the dude who ran away from a party hammered in a full knights suit of armor in high school

If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses - Henry Ford

Imagine the guy who gets to tell a story about a taxidermed leopard?

in it 2 win it

Ah man, I miss high school house parties so much. The thrill of potentially getting caught and basically 100% attempting to escape made for some exciting times.

It's weird looking back on your ability to drink a lot and be fresh the next day. Now I'm almost completely out of commission for a day. I'd imagine it only goes downhill from here, gentlemen.

Wow.

Our high school house parties were always at kids houses (it helped that we had 2 houses where the parents were NEVER home on the weekends). I don't think I wouldve had the balls to participate in a break in to party.
