NYC rental proof of income

2021 ft analyst starting at a BB, was wondering if my offer letter could serve as proof of income or would I need a guarantor? I’m just worried since I start in June and wouldn’t have pay stubs to show for proof. If anyone has experience dealing with this please let me know. Thanks

Are you set on midtown? I realize that is probably convenient for the office (for when people start going back in the office) but I’m more of a fan of the downtown (East/west village, etc), although pricing is a bit expensive in that area so for a first year convenience and price probably win this one. I would avoid being too close to Times Square unless you’ve been in that area and are good with it, I can’t stand that area. As an example 247 W 46th is a newer building, but I would hate that area. Hell’s Kitchen might be your best bet from getting a reasonable deal.

You can also find a lot of deals in Murray hill, but you said midtown so I’m guessing you want to avoid that area (I would, but I’m also mostly past my college drinking days)

301 W 53rd is nice (although the 3bd is $5.5k right now) - about as close to Times Square as I would tolerate

243 W 54th - tiny rooms but pretty good deal and location is probably close to most offices

Those are the ones I could quickly think of (and find online), Hell’s Kitchen has a bunch of other options. Newer construction stuff is a bit harder to find for a reasonable price

When I say midtown I kind of mean Hell’s Kitchen if that makes it better lol
