As someone who lives in Toronto, the city is great for raising children and just generally living, but I don't think it's nearly as fun as other big metro areas in the US as far as fun goes in your 20s. Not as many fun things to do, not as many weekend trip possibilities, poor transit system, etc. That being said, I'd try to live walking distance from work to minimize commute for at least the first year, and spend your free time getting to know the different neigbourhoods of the city, the restaurant scene, etc.

 

Hard to give specifics with little background on you, but I would say explore beyond the downtown. Toronto is sprawling and you can find lots beyond the core and even an hour or two drive. 

My biggest gripe is the complete lack of elevation. Skiing in Ontario is a joke.
