I realize it's pretty ambitious but I'm hoping for EBs/GS/MS/JPM/BofA in NYC or PE out of undergrad

Current sophomore at ND. ND places extremely well both in Chicago and NY. Placements have been on the rise in both cities, largely due to how well ND students perform as SA or as FY analysts compared to other similar target schools. Clubs like SIBC prepare you really well. EVR took 6 ND kids last year, expect them to take almost 8 this recruiting season. GS Moelis BofA EVR in NY, and CS WB HL PWP Lazard Lincoln in CHI are seeing a massive influx in ND students. If you want to break into IB, ND is definitely a great place to be. Alumni network is insane as well. ND grads are stepping to VP and MD roles at many BB and EB firms are pulling ND students in by the boatload.

Bias ND student here but absolutely would recommend it.

As soon as you get here, the path to a great SA offer is basically laid out for you. Join SIBC projects which are essentially the closest thing you can do to the actual job. Better they any freshman/sophomore internship in terms of learning because you do all the heavy lifting (create pitchbooks and models from scratch that resemble real decks from what I’ve been told) whereas no real firm is going to trust an 18 year old kid with a real model in an internship. There are tons of projects and it’s super easy to get on at least one a semester. All my non-interviewers were super impressed with the real work I did and the ND interviewers basically got to see me do a trial run of the job right in front of them.

With a good resume (which again is basically laid out for you) and a good gpa, you’re an absolute lock for Chicago MM (Blair, Lincoln, etc.) and have a great chance for anywhere else. Someone else put these numbers out but sa 2023 had Evercore, Moelis, BofA, Goldman, Lazard, Citi, KKR, Blackstone, Sixth Street, CS, PJT RX, and other top RX groups (HL, Ducera). Part of the reason that the firms love ND is because they are some of the most well prepared from SIBC, previous internships, and being at a business school. Because of this, ND absolutely crushed it during on cycle the past two years (can’t give details but alum went to almost every top place you can think of)

The last thing I’ll mention is the strength of the network. ND alum love their school and it seems like they’re more willing to pull for their students than average. Think ND places about as well as any other school and is certainly a more fun 4 years than most comparable ones.

Hi! Not sure if you're still active but I'm an intl admitted to ND and I'm wondering about placement numbers specifically for intls. Would love to chat in DMs, pls drop a message if that's possible. Thanks!

ND 2019 Grad chiming in here -- there is a lot of good stuff in here so I'll try not to repeat and keep it short. Join SIBC and Wall Street Club to help meet the right people / mentors and get an idea of what you'll need to accomplish in your freshman / sophomore years.

With that said, ND has a great track record of placing. I ended up doing two years at a BB in Chicago, but had offers on the West and East Coast at various points (chose Chicago for location preference), then a stint on the buyside before moving to Corp Dev.

I think the only thing I haven't read yet is that when it comes to recruiting, you have to go all-in on what you want -- i.e., you can't recruit for both Chicago MMs and BBs or BBs on both coasts. It will hurt your overall story and firms will want to go with a candidate they know that wants to be there. This hurt me a bit when I was younger but once I focused on Chicago BBs it worked itself out.

Congrats on getting into ND, had an incredible 4 years there and still live with my ND roommates. Wouldn't stress too much about banking since you're pretty young but the placement is super strong and the school itself is a blast (despite there being a good amount of weirdos, but that is every good school).
