Off-cycle IB/Consulting internships/D-Plan at Dartmouth vs Williams's Winter Study?
So I am currently deciding between Williams and Dartmouth. Both will cost about the same. I will major in Econ. At this time, I am leaning more toward Williams because the school's culture has less emphasis on drinking/frat, my brother went there so I am more familiar with it, and I felt fit in after my Williams visit(due to financial reasons, I cannot visit Dartmouth but a lot of people say beside frat, the culture is pretty similar.)
Williams has winter study which I can take courses in IB/PE/Finance or do an internship. Dartmouth has D-plan, which allows me to do off-cycle internships.
Can Dartmouth/Williams alumni or industry people voice their opinions on Williams or Dartmouth? Are off-cycle internships popular and/or easy to get? Thanks
I'd really try and figure out if there's a way you can figure out that "financial situation" so that you can visit. IMO, you shouldn't make that big of a decision on a place you haven't visited. Usually, admissions can be quite helpful with that. I'd talk to them about it. Also, Idk much about Williams but Dartmouth is an ivy. Both great choices obviously, but you will likely have more opportunities coming out of Dartmouth because of it's branding. If it's the same major, about the same cost, I'd have to go with Dartmouth. I'd definitely visit first before committing though.
