Offer - Main person to help secure?

Who is the MAIN person to help secure this during the summer? My MD, my analyst, HR, analysts in other divisions, or the group as a whole?

If you say some dumb stuff your first day (forget someones name, etc), will hard work suffice to bump you into the game again? Also, should you go out every night if some analysts invite you every night?

First thing, you can pretty much rule HR out at the start. You analyst will in most cases be the one sho says yay or nay - anyone more senior will ask them what they think of you. Agree with SternMonkey that being on good terms with your MD cannot hurt, but: 1. be careful not to come across as too much of a brownnoser as this will coutn against you (ibanks are already full to the brim with those types) 2. if the md likes you, they will still ask the person youve worked most with - your analyst - if youre any good. good luck
