Origination still important for senior bankers in M&A group?
Coverage bankers need to develop strong business relationships with clients and bring mandates to the bank to survive. What about product bankers? At D/MD level, are they still expected to bring new businesses, or it does not matter if they are good at execution / have niche knowledge (SPAC, Carveouts) ?
