Part time investment banking job while in undergrad?
I spoke to a former BB analyst and he mentioned that it's possible to have a part-time investment banking job while in undergrad. Is this possible?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it seems that the focus here is more on part-time or executive MBA programs and their impact on breaking into banking, rather than part-time investment banking jobs during undergrad. However, it's important to note that the world of finance is vast and opportunities can vary.
While it's not impossible to have a part-time investment banking job during undergrad, it's not commonly discussed in the threads I have access to. It could be quite challenging given the demanding nature of both investment banking and undergraduate studies.
Remember, it's crucial to balance your academic responsibilities with any work commitments. You might want to consider internships, which are a common path for undergraduates to gain experience in investment banking.
I hope this helps! If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

Yes, it is, but I wouldn't recommend it.
I worked at a LMM boutique as an intern throughout the school year, and while it gives a great "why IB" answer, it's a lot of added stress that's not needed. Even though it was pitched to me as 20hr/week, realistically it was 35-40. That on top of a full courseload, extracurriculars, and recruiting, it's not feasible.
Be careful if you want to pursue this, budget your time, and get your caffeine intake down before it inevitably spikes.
Yeah possible but also echo the above. I'm doing it rn while taking 6 classes and it's definitely not something I'd recommend. I love where I work and what I do rn which gets me through it but it does make academics way harder. I came back from work last night at midnight after an almost 17 hour day including school/work and all to study for a test I had at 9 am this morning.
So possible but would not recommend it. Depends on how you are academically too. I usually only study for tests for about 2-4 hours the day before and I have a high gpa but that is specific to me which makes the IB and school balancing a lot easier. So take into account what kind of student you are too.
Bro, enjoy college. Go to some parties and talk to women.
agree with this, unless its crunch time and you have nothing on your resume your are fine
