Part-time MBA and IB Assoc

I have a friend who works in strategy consulting with me as engagement manager, but he does part-time weekend MBA at Booth on top. A BBIB recruiter reached out and he landed an offer. He still has 2 years left in the program. Has anyone done IB associate job and part-time MBA? He asked for my thoughts, but I have no idea as I've never worked in IB.

I'm finishing my part-time MBA and landed an associate offer back in September to start in July. It's definitely possible nowadays, but be prepared to work your ass off in preparation for interviews and make sure to network a ton. Especially since you won't have a summer internship and will have stiff competition.

Edit: I misread the post and see that you meant doing the job while also doing the MBA. I wouldn’t recommend it, but I’m sure it’s possible.

I did part-time while working as an Associate, it's doable but it's brutal. The workload side of it is easy, relatively speaking, but the hard part is the mental toll it takes because you never have a moment to switch your brain off to decompress. You have no nights, no weekends, zero time for anything but work and the MBA program. Not saying it isn't worth doing but it takes a significant amount of mental fortitude to go down that path
