PE firms that hire consultants
Hi guys,
I just thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to create a complete list of PE firms that typically hire consultants. Let me kick it off with the following:
Bain Cap Golden Gate Berkshire Charlesbank AEA
Any others you can add?
why?
.
THL Partners Serent Capital (started by McKinsey guys)
and then of course:
Parthenon Capital Monitor Clipper Partners
Add KKR and TPG (rare, but personally know those who have joined or have offers) amongst the megafunds.
Francisco partners, New Mountain Capital, Apax partners, Clayton Dubilier & rice, Hellmann & Friedman have all hired/continue to hire consultants
Which PE firms don't hire consultants?
Considering there are 100s of PE firms, most of them don't.
which pe firms hire bankers?>
One of the top woman at BX came from Boston-CG with no banking experience - Julia Kahr. Did her Harvard MBA and didn't even apply. Next thing Tony James is on the phone inviting her to interview. Became a partner at 29.
Bottom line: it's possible but I would follow the banking route. I couldn't imagine anything worse than spending 2-3 years around consultants.
Could not agree more.
