Keep in mind, everyone you are competing with has the same exact struggles if not harder.
There are a few threads on here that address PE recruiting. CompBanker's story is pretty good about how he navigated the process. I would see if they analyst above you who are about to leave have any materials they can lend you if they are transitioning to PE and I would search around for a few other threads.....
