People who have lateraled
Anyone who has lateraled from a 3rd tier to a BB, how did you do it? What advice would you give? I know the lateral market is dead but let’s assume these were normal times, how would I go about doing this?

You wouldn’t. Shit only happened during 2020-2021
incredibly rare for somebody to go from soc gen or Nomura to a BB in a similar industry group
It was much easier in 2020-2021 but it still happened prior to that. Just takes a lot of networking and proving you are capable.
Who would lateral before that then? People don't usually see moving from Barclays to Bofa, etc worth it
Tier 2 banks - MM firms like Piper, etc.

Have seen many jumps from 2/3/4 tiers to BB. Just need to prove yourself.
