Pivotal Moment in Life/Career
At a crossroads in my life/career that will impact the trajectory of both my professional and personal life.
I have an offer for sophomore IB next summer in a regional city close to home, that's near my friends and family (something that's always been important to me). However, I'm also considering the allure of pursuing a position in a T1 city for my junior summer, where there may be better opportunities and where I could get a more diverse analyst experience, even though I don't know many people there.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? What factors did you consider when making your decision? I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Making this choice feels like a pivotal moment that will have a big effect on my career and life.
Thanks in advance for your input!
You're just talking about a fucking SA right?
I'll be doing an SA first but hope on returning. The main point of the question is what ppl's thoughts were for choosing a regional city that's near their hometown vs. pursuing a big city position which would be more beneficial from a career standpoint but would also be a solo journey

I have an offer for 50% off any large, two-topping pizza at a Papa John’s that’s close to my apartment (something that’s always been important to me). However, I’m also considering the allure of pursuing a student discount at a three-star Chinese restaurant for my Sunday dinner, where there may be better menu options and where I could get a more diverse culinary experience, even though I don’t know how to pronounce many of the foods there.

I hope that there will be more pivotal moments in your career. Good luck
A sophomore internship is a pivotal life decision?! Wtf, this sub sometimes.
One of these things is not like the other
Dude, you are incredibly overthinking this. No one gives a shit about what you do sophomore year as long as it's semi-relevant. The majority of SAs I hire did some questionably relevant "finance" internship at a small company, just having something for soph year is what matters and having IB will help you regardless of location. If you want to stick close to home for the summer, this is probably the last chance to do so... go for it. You also need to view things with a little more perspective and take a breath, as you are making a huge deal out of a rather non-important situation.
