Private Funds Group at Investment Bank
Hi,
I have an upcoming interview with the Private Funds Group team in an Investment Bank that sits within IBD and essentially works as a placement agent doing fundraising for alternative fund managers.
Any insights on what to expect during the Super-day, specific technical questions, and advice on nailing the case study?
Many thanks!

Not that helpful but make sure to study up on LBOs - know how to walk someone thru a model and some other general questions, since you’re probably going to be working with a lot of PE firms from my understanding.
goodluck!
No, that's super helpful. Thanks!
No… this isn’t super helpful. You’ll be working with IR teams from PE firms vs deal teams so I’d be shocked if you get LBO technical questions. It’s a good gig and friends I know in that role are happy.
It’s much more of a sales desk than a research desk. You should read up on different types of asset classes that your HNW clients allocate their money to and understand how they think about PE exposure. I think knowing key terms to look for in fund subscription documents would also serve you well.
Good luck.
Have done a few interviews with these types of groups. Seems like comp is fairly similar to IB but with slightly less technical work
