Product groups with the best WLB

I know this is group dependent, but I just want a ballpark answer on what the best product group is with max 60 hours of work a week, minimal weekend work. I am not tryna work M&A hours, nor do I give a shit about M&A or PE. Just tryna get my bag and enjoy my life.

I know some answers may say DCM/ECM. Does structured finance fall into this category?

The issue with ECM is that u HAVE to be there at 7am everyday. Also during periods with lots of IPOs you could still be working M&A hours without the leniency of coming in late. DCM should be more chill

Ignore title. But im a 2nd yr analyst in DCM and will be moving to my PE role in January. The WLB isn’t as good as people say, only nice thing was I never worked weekends.

Typical day was 730am-10pm. This was at a mid tier BB in NYC. Fridays would end at 6/7pm. Pace of the job is also really tough, we would get absolutely smoked when markets opened / deal flow was high with issuers slamming the bond market. My seniors travelled every week too so it doesn’t really get that much better.

I still felt as tired as I did when I interned in coverage/M&A so I’d really think twice about joining DCM to just “coast through and chill”
