Pulling numbers from equity research reports

Hi all,

I recently took a modelling case for a lateral analyst position, which involved doing a quick dcf projection model among other things.

They gave me a a bunch of ER reports to take the historicals and projections from. I did pretty badly as we mostly do private co's at my shop and I'm not used to deciding which forecasts, figures rates are appropriate.

Can you share any best practices on this? Eg where the forecasts are generally placed, how to choose the appropriate WACCs from a sample, how the ER figures differ from one another etc?

For example the co in question had some disposals projected in year 1, but some CF tables in the reports had them but some didnt? Is there any general layout / presentation etc?
