PWP Buy-side Recruiting
Curious to hear what the buy-side recruiting situation is at PWP. I know PE exits were discouraged in the past, but have heard that senior management is somewhat more supportive these days. How true is that?

You're correct that in the past it exits were discouraged (similar to CVP), because the firm was in its nascent stages and sought to retain analysts to help the firm grow. However those days are gone, and I know from friends currently working there that the firm has become a lot more supportive of exiting if you tell them you're looking to exit (as opposed to staying for A2A which the firm also supports). By "a lot more supportive" I mean senior bankers giving recs, 2nd year analysts who have offers helping first years recruit, etc. According to my first-year analyst friend, exits for the past two classes include Warburg Pincus, Carlyle, Lindsay Goldberg, L Catterton, GA, and Summit, and I'm probably forgetting some others.
Appreciate the insight—looked around on LinkedIn for past PWP in PE and couldn’t seem to find anyone. Must be outside my network.
It's because these exits are for analysts starting their PE jobs in Summer 2018 and Summer 2019, so you won't see them on LinkedIn until they begin.
They’ve sent two to KKR in recent cycles as well
Do you mean the actual buy side arm of PWP?
Not particularly. I’m not too familiar with their growth equity team but I’d assume it’s not as desirable as a PE exit.
I'd second that they are making more of a push for analysts to make the jump to buyside. Also heard from friend they're growing Rx practice. Would add that the exits are a notch below Evercore/PJT/LazardMoelis if you are eventually looking to go to buyside. Still a great firm with a solid reputation but analysts are not as sought after as some of the other boutiques.
Isn’t Ducera their former RX group?
Yeah, if you are interviewing at both and they ask where else you’re interviewing, don’t mention Ducera. Could get you dinged
Anyone have insight into how Perella did on-cycle this year?

Don’t they have a solid KKR pipeline?
