Questions about my future planning
I'm a junior in a non-target and I just landed an interniship at a small accounting firm (240 employees) here in San Francisco's financial district. I will be working on their consulting side doing business valuations for a wide array of industries. If I land a permanent job there I will be doing valuations as well as other aspects of consulting like mergers and aquisitions. I have a decent GPA right now (3.3) that will go up to at least a 3.5 by graduation time. I aspire to do well during the internship, get an offer, work for 3 years in the firm, apply for Berkely's Haas graduate program (rated 7th in the country by newsweek) and pursue an associate position in an IB. I have a few connections via a friend in Soloman Bros and Uncle's friends at Deutch and MS.
Does this sound like a feasible plan? Is this the right path for a consultant switchin to I banking?
Any suggestion and advice is welcomed.
the Accounting experience is good, particularly if you are doing more analysis or valuation versus footing ledgers or confirming receivables
What graduate degree should I pursue?
Good luck with Soloman Bros!
SB should be sweet!
IT IS Deutsche Bank. AND IT WAS DEUTSCHE MARK. DEUTSCHE!!! hahah kidding... but I am just wondering why everybody drops the "s" or the "e" etc. How about Unit Stat Americas?
