I'm at a target and worked my ass off to get a top EB/BB offers for this upcoming summer. I feel like taking it for full time if I get the return, but I've networked for Ardian and long story short I can get an FT offer there. Yes - IB is the main feeder to PE so you wont have any problems exiting into it.
FoF is just investing into other PE funds. Extremely different from direct PE. Take your IB offer.
What is it like moving from FoF to traditional pe? Buyside work seems more interesting and if I got an offer from Ardian/similar pe firm, I think it would be a cool opportunity
It’s not easy or likely, even to move from FoF into traditional IB is not easy, which is why everyone is telling you one thing.
FoF is just investing into other PE funds. Extremely different from direct PE. Take your IB offer.
You should definitely take the IB offer. FoF is very specific and you probably won't be able to change afterwards. It's very complicated to get out of it
