Reflection on Banking
Is banking the ultimate form of delayed gratification? For example, exit opps, monetary compensation, and knowledge. Or is everyone in the industry, to some degree, forced to drink the Kool-Aid during their junior years? Working long hours with your health most likely deteriorating, at the analyst/associate level, is it really worth it all if you make it out the other end of the tunnel and become a VP, Director, or even MD? I'm curious if any seniors here can elaborate on their own experiences or share what they've observed happening with their peers who stayed in banking for the long run.
