Relocation Bonus Only for Diversity Students ??????

I am at a large investment bank in NYC. I just realized that the only people in my internship that got a relocation stipend were from the diversity programs. How the f***  is this not straight up racism???

So far I have not said anything about different recruiting pipelines, programs, etc, but to give the diversity program students stipends and not give the asian/white guys a relocation stipend has to be extremely racist and unethical, especially when some non-diversity might really need the money.

This level of unfairness has to stop.

You know damn well that's not what they're referencing and will never be the people who get selected. Show me a single white guy or asian guy who got into a DEI-oriented program. I'll wait...

They brainwashed us into thinking that normal DEI wasn't just racism. Now extreme DEI only feels slightly wierd...

Not that unbelievable. Crazier stuff happens on a day to day with diversity specialty. They penetrated slowly while we sat there like slow-boiled frogs.

Please don't lump me in with this "we". Idk what merit there would be to selectively removing relocation bonuses when most banks have provided them for years to everyone.

This is very simple. If this happened you email HR, "hi when am I receiving my relocation bonus, I've heard some other interns received theirs already."

Ball's in their court.

With the amount of Good Ol’ Boy gatekeeping in our industry you’re really complaining about a relocation stipend? What’s the percentage of diversity students vs non diversity in the internship class? I can tell you industry wide the percentages of each group don’t represent the percentage of qualified professionals of each background. Work hard keep your head down and I’m sure you’ll end up alright.

Not the point. It’s not the white kid’s fault for being white that he doesn’t get relocation assistance. Why can’t you be white and poor at the same time?
