Rosenbaum/Pearl sufficient for IB internships, or should I cover Damodaran as well?

To prepare for future internships I've recently finished Rosenbaum and Pearl's book on IB. Now I've skimmed through one of Damodaran's lectures on valuation, where he mentioned that valuation, as conducted in IB, is merely considered pricing and distinct from what he teaches.

For those who had insights in IB and/or Valuation and are familiar with the resources mentioned - would you recommend preparing Damodaran's course as well? Or is that just overkill? Besides the ubiquitous praise for his content, I've also read some comments that it's too theoretical compared to it's real world application.

I’ve always found knowing academic finance to be interesting and useful. But it tends to be different than what’s actually done on the desk.

Damodaran has all of his lectures on YouTube. Worth a watch. He’s right when he says banking is about pricing. At the end of the day, banking clients want to know how they’re valued against their peers. If their peers are trading at 14x but they’re only at 11x, they’ll want to know why.
